History

The well known Counter-Strike Source team sk187, which was owned by United Kingdom Rude and temporary captained by Ireland Wilks split in half, the split went on to create one of the United Kingdom’s most well known CSS teams, United Kingdom Auxilia. The split was for a number of reasons, Rude had left Wilks in charge of sk187 while he had a busy personal life and wouldn't be able to commit. Months went past and Rude announced his return, only he wanted to come back and take ownership of the team again (which was understandable). However in the short spell Wilks had been in charge, we had progressed as a team, winning online events by the number and making a strong name for ourselves.

Auxilia was born.

The original line-up was (from what I remember):-

- United Kingdom Death
- United Kingdom Jam0r
- Ireland phx
- Ireland Wilks
- Scotland Gandofini
- United Kingdom Jonesy

We started off well, entering UK’s most active ladder, Enemy Down and progressing from there. We had entered ClanBase’s prestigious EuroCup event with only a handful of other UK teams to compete against the best in Europe. We finished in the top 5, the highest UK team, thats pretty much what started it off for us and embedded the name AuxiliA into the minds of the people.

Some people however couldn’t get their head around the random style they would play with – Gandofini and James “Jam0r” Morris in particular would do the most random pushes and they usually seemed to be timed right.

From the start we wanted to be a team who kept out of the lime light for all the wrong reasons, we just wanted to keep ourselves to ourselves, letting our results speak for us more than anything. Too many teams we’re, basically, just too insulting. Yes there were great players around at the time and even better teams but they always seemed to be in the lime light for all the wrong reasons.

We then got too big for our boots, with Jam0r going inactive every few weeks, Munchies was hired by Gandofini to be the manager of the team. A new website and new teams playing different games soon followed, the AuxiliA name grew even bigger, making a name for itself not only in the UK but now Europe too. Sponsors arrived and although promised much delivered little apart from TMOG (The Ministry of Gaming) who we have to admit, we’re brilliant.

After that the team seemed to die a little and went inactive for a long period of time. That’s where we are now, not permanently active but enough to keep our love for the game still flowing.

That wasn’t to be the end of the story however, with our players joining other teams here and there for new events. Jam0r joined Infused-Gaming and had a fairly successful time there, Gandofini played for Zboard at the first CGS event in the UK (where oddly enough, Jam0r was playing with Infused-Gaming against him). Stan also had a brief role in CSA along side former AuxiliA player and bother, Arak, who both went on to join the UK power house Four Kings for a brief spell after wards.

He asked everyone’s names and then came to John and he went crazy. “Oh, you are Gandofini? From AuxiliA? Amazing, yes, I have seen you play” and even though he couldn’t understand a single word of John’s drunken Scottish mumble, he talked for some time.

That leads us to where we are today, still doing our thing only this time with less effort and with real life commitments to deal with (bloody girlfriends). I think its safe to say that we’ve had a pretty eventful time playing this game, from the beginning to the end. We could of never hoped to of had such an interesting number of years, simply playing a computer game over the internet.
