Guys, Why do people tell you to believe in what you want to but then tell you not to believe in the one true thing you do believe in? I just want to play counter strike forces but coming online to play makes me want to take a razor and kill myself.

Look how much weight I've lost from CS:S trauma...
I'm nearing the end.

New CSS Beta update
12-08-2010, 11:05 | By Jam0r | 14 Comments
Hidden Path have released another update for the CSS Beta, which will eventually filter down to vanilla CSS, we believe, on Monday 16th August. It seems as though Hidden Path are listening to the calls of both communities and fixing issues that Valve should of sorted out many moons ago. One of the bigger changes is a small server side command - sv_competitive_minspec - which will force the following client commands when executed:-
r_drawdetailprops 1
r_staticprop_lod (-1 to 3)
fps_max minimum 60 (or 0)
cl_detailfade minimum 400
cl_detaildist minimum 1200
cl_cmdrate minimum 60
cl_updaterate minimum 60
rate minimum 30,000
Could this be the end of config abusers? It's a start and I hope it continues. They have also done the following:-
- Fixed a bug where some video configuration could get reset by restarting the engine.
- Fixed a case of uneven performance on multicore machines.
- Reduced overlap in sound timing code.
- Fixed a case where audio could skip.
- Fixed materials compiled into the map not being loaded correctly if they're in the root materials folder.
Keep them coming please!!

EPS Season 3 Relegation Report

We lost 2-1 overall tonight, winning Inferno, getting destroyed on Train and then losing closely on Nuke. We had an absolutely dismal CT half on train losing 11-4, I don't even know how or what went wrong. Think it was a case of over rotations, getting picked and also being extremely unlucky. We should have won so many more rounds but just didn't. All credit to the other team though, they played really well and deserved the win.
I think everyone is about ready for a break from the game. I'm away this weekend until Tuesday, so I'll be back online next Wednesday/Thursday hopefully so maybe we can get some games then and try to enjoy it a bit. The entire mood on vent lately has been extremely sombre and is in desperate need of some Gando-banter.
Take it easy mate

Yep well CSS has been updated with some pretty interesting news, that the game will be limited to 66 tick, along with a HUD over hall. Playing it seems pretty much the same, better reg but this could be placebo due to the lower tick rate.

ESL EAS Division 1 Season 4 Begins
16-06-2010, 14:39 | By Jam0r | 8 Comments
No sooner than one event finishes another takes its place. Season 4 of ESL's EAS Division 1 started a few weeks ago and we got off to a pretty pleasing start. As is always the case with us, we turn up on the night and play, none of this 20 hours a week gaming for us!
Our first match was against
Instincts who are a great bunch of lads and who we have enjoyed playing against previously. The map was de_tuscan (possibly the worst map ever, bring back cpl_mill please) and sadly yours truly had to sit out as I was at the Circus, good times! However on my return I was greeted by a happy sounding bunch after they had won the game 16-9. It would have been about 16-6, but Instincts bought UMP's and absolutely destroyed us for a few rounds. We got our revenge and was good fun against probably the safest team in ESL.
Next we were up against
FTC, a team we had not heard of before making us a little bit uneasy. Nuke was the chosen map, strongly CT sided and we didn't get off to the best of starts. Loosing pistol I believe we had trouble holding some of the points after we had to switch up our positions due to Death not being available. A lack of practice against a clearly well drilled team caused us a lot of problems, but we managed to end the half 10-5 or 9-6 (can't remember.)
We got to T side knowing we had a very hard half in front of us, having not played together in 2 weeks, and having 1 strat for nuke which people had forgotten anyway, Hybrid tried to get us to work a few strats 10 minutes before the game. Auxilia is full on allergic to anything remotely related to tactics, and so when we got round to the game, it just wasn't working. There's a sneaky suspicion that FTC had possibly watched our demos, and had upper well and truly locked down. We managed to win 1 round in 9, and it was looking as if we were heading for a defeat. At match point, Gando takes over the calling and instantly, we start decimating FTC. Playing extremely aggressively, splitting and pushing the chokepoints and taking off any CT's heads before they could even so much as counterflash, we took sites with ease. They simply couldn't handle us.
Our last game was, as we thought, one of the hardest matches we'd have to play in this event, it was against
Demonic Esports.
We came in more prepared for this game than any other we've played this season or last, having played TWO pcw's beforehand! We would have played more, the game was at 9 and 4 of us were on at 7pm, but Bios showed up at 8:45, so we played one half of a PCW before making our way to the server. Demonic are a highly rated team currently, and we knew it wasn't going to be an easy game, even with them playing their "manager", (who had played over 90 hours of CS:S in 2 weeks).
We managed to win the knife round again, (three games in a row... getting silly now.) We went CT, and naturally lost the pistol round (see a pattern here?). After losing the following ECO's, we only lost 2 buy rounds taking the half 10-5. Momentum was fully in our favour. We were confident now and knew we could easily beat them. We won the T pistol round with practically no resistance and from then on we knew the game was ours. We could have wrapped it up several rounds earlier, but were caught napping by CT's and lost a couple of silly rounds.
We finished strong, taking the remaining rounds with relative ease and were happy with a score of 16-12 to us. Not bad for 5 players, who combined have played a total of 40 hours in 2 weeks, 20 of those being Hybrid's (lazy student bum/keen bean). This compared to the fact several of the Demonic players had racked up 50+ hours a week, and are generally egotistical twats who play the game with a fully undeserved sense of self accomplishment made this result all the sweeter. They claimed they would smash us with their full team, which we found hilarious. If we put in half the hours they do then it wouldn't even be a challenge.

ESL EAS Division 1 Season 3 Finishes
17-05-2010, 09:05 | By Jam0r | 4 Comments
Last night saw us play our final ESL Amateur Series (Season 3) game against
iNfluxum on the map de_nuke. With it being our final game we wanted to go out with a bang but not only that, winning this match would send us to the top of the leader board with points.
As usual we did our thing, few PCWs before the game itself and then we entered the battlefield. Winning knives for the first time in our lives we choose CT side first but started badly, loosing the pistol round and the next eco rounds. We finally managed to get a foot hold in the game finishing the half 9-6 to us which was certainly making things difficult for us.
Once again we lost the pistol round (can you see a trend here?) and the following eco round however we managed to step it up a gear. On the 3rd round we got some deagle picks and ended up in a 5v3 to take the round, the claw back had begun. From that moment on we managed to work our strats well, managing to get into the top site a few times only to be taken out but some eijit hiding behind fork lift. Saying that we worked hard and took the winning round, ending the half 7-5.

Things are pretty quiet at the moment with Stan and Hybrid doing Uni work and exams, Death and Jam0r doing their usual work and then see the girlfriend routine so gamings have been put on hold for the moment. Sadly though we still need to finish our EAS Division 1 games (I believe the whole event is actually waiting for us to finish, whoops) so we're doing our best to set these games in our diary.
Gando is away at the rigs as usual so we have MrBios helping us during our final few games.
More news soon (hopefully along with the CSS beta fixing everything that is wrong)

Yes we're still here. We have just slipped back into the dark corner awaiting to pounce on an unsuspecting gorgeous lass.
Things have been a bit quiet on the CSS front, we missed the ED cup so defaulted that and we've had to reschedule most of our ESL games due to internet issues. Thankfully we're all now back so let the games begin.

aux. power through Instincts in EAS Division 1

We played our 3rd (should be our 4th but that's one for the admins) match in ESL's EAS Division 1 against
Instincts last night on the best map ever, de_inferno. Everyone knows this is a CT sided map so winning knives was vital to picking that all important starting side. Even though
Jam0r ran into 4 of them and died instantly, with some good 'sword' work from the rest of the lads, we won and went CT.
Pistol round went our way too, they managed to get the bomb down but with a 4 of us hunting down their last player, it was only going to end our way. This pretty much summed up the setting for the entire game, holding positions well and only loosing the few rounds that we did to fakes. Considering we're still fairly rusty, 11-4 to us certainly wasn't a bad result especially since we had
Req playing for us ;)
T side pistol was needed, simple as that. We changed our usual and sped things up, taking the opportunity as they seemed off guard in the large bomb site. Just as
Jam0r was about to plant a sole CT comes wandering up quad only to shoot him in the face as the rest of Auxilia we're hiding like pansies. Thanks lads! Despite this, we won the pistol and the following 5 rounds to make the final score 16-4 to us.

29-03-2010, 11:56 | By Jam0r | 0 Comments
A week or so ago,
Req decided that Auxilia wasn't for him as our inactivity was just too much for him to handle. With us only playing a few games a week due to other commitments, we understood his decision and are sad to see him go. He's still playing the next couple of ESL EAS Division 1 games due to ESL's rules however after tonight's game against
Instincts he'll no longer be with us. We wish him the best for the future.
His replacement, comes in the form of
Hybrid, another UK player who we believe has similar ideas as the rest of us. Not only that but he can also join us in our Battlefield: Bad Company 2 expeditions. Enjoy your time with us!

In the next couple of days we'll be fairly busy with ESL EAS Division 1 matches.
Last night saw us play our 3rd match against
Snipers Alley on the ever so popular map de_dust2. Makes a nice change to be playing against a team we actually recognise for once, we kind of knew in the back of our minds this would be a difficult game.
We won knives and took CT side first on this 50/50 map and started off well, taking the pistol and the following anti eco rounds. On the fourth round Snipers Alley managed to sneak into B bombsite under cover of smoke in the tunnels and got the bomb planted, taking the round. Then
Jam0r's internet went FUBAR and we had to pause while he reset his amazing Virgin Media internet.
On his return we managed to lock down the bomb sites fairly well, only letting them take 4 rounds out of the 15. T side went similar, we used a new pistol strat that worked well (Thanks Death for the crazy ideas) and we got settled down. Sadly we lost a few rounds but with some good middle AWP'ing from
Req,
Bios and
Stan we got the picks needed to get the job done.

StannlyQuickscope interview Jam0r

The guys over at Quickscope finally managed to grab hold of
Jam0r to see what he thought of our upcoming match in ESL Division 1 against English powerhouse and old skooler's
Snipers Alley. Similar to us, Snipers Alley have been around for many years, infact I remember playing them back in 2006 it was that long ago, making this game a clash of epic proportions.
Who will win? Who knows. All we know is that our lineup issues are effecting our activity as usual, can't we just keep 5 players for a week!
You can read the interview here.

Jam0r: In all honestly, the desire to win will always be there but if we did happen to lose, we’d probably just shrug it off and go for an hours’ session on Bad Company 2 or Left 4 Dead. We’re gamers, we enjoy playing every game. (I hope we do win though)

aux. beat Aphotic in ED cup final
17-03-2010, 16:50 | By Jam0r | 0 Comments
Yesterday saw us play our final game in the ED Challenge Cup #11 against
Aphotic, who in all honestly we know nothing about. Being out of the CSS scene for quite a while now it's difficult to recognize any teams these days who we used to play against 'back in the day'.
Anyway, we went into the map cautiously making sure there were no surprises along the way. We lost knives and Aphotic choose CT side first, we've always believed de_contra was a T sided map so we weren't too fussed about this. However things didn't start off to well. We lost the pistol even though we got the early picks and the next couple of eco rounds went Aphotic's way.
Things started to swing our way however with the first buy round, since the map is so large splits and full on rushes work so well as it takes the opponent about 15 years to rotate from the other bomb site. Using this to our advantage we ended the half 9-6 to us.
CT side was another matter, we had the upper hand but couldn't leave anything to chance. Once again we lost the pistol round and Aphotic seemed to be concentrating on bombsite B a lot, getting their flashes over the walls well and having quite an easy time gaining entrance into the site and getting the bomb down. After a brief spell of abuse on Ventrilo,
Gandofini and
Jam0r changed their setup and managed to lock the site down for the rest of the game.
This kind of sealed their fate, it seemed as though Aphotic had run out of ideas, with both bomb sites locked down, it was just a case of picking them off from afar.
Well played to Aphotic and a well played to the lads is deserved, our first achievement since coming back, lets keep it up.

Stannlyaux. community is running
17-03-2010, 16:09 | By Jam0r | 0 Comments
The Auxilia Community is now up and running, feel free to register and contribute. You can engage in forum discussions, create and join groups, create albums and upload your favorite gaming photos, post blogs about your gaming carer or personal life and lots, lots more.
The calendar will be in constant use, listing our upcoming events and matches as well as Gandofini's frequent trips to the oil rigs.
I have one request for players of Auxilia though, can you register with the user name found on the Members page as the website leeches the data from the forums using a persons user name. If you don't then your profile won't be shown on the Members page.

Gandofini returns to the rigs

Gandofini will be returning to the rigs once again this Saturday for another 3 week spell in the worlds most dangerous job. Luckily however we have a good back up player in
Bios, as he steps up to take Gandofini's place in all upcoming officials.
We wish Gando the best of luck landing choppers, putting out fires and enjoying only the company of 30+ other men for 3 weeks.

Website update and change
16-03-2010, 16:16 | By Jam0r | 0 Comments
Website has been updated, new banner, simple design, you can find the information you want quickly and easy. Auxilia have been around for 4 years now (in some way or form) and since then we've been in many events, played far too many matches than I'd care to remember and spent way too many hours playing computer games.
Let the good times continue.
